The Flux Beambox (40Watt) is a laser cutting and engraving machine that can precisely cut or engrave a variety of materials with high accuracy and detail. It can engrave designs, patterns, and text onto a variety of media, including wood, acrylic, leather, glass, stone, and even some metals. Laser engraving produces permanent markings by vaporising or etching the material's surface. Students can bring their ideas to life with accuracy and detail in fields such as arts and crafts, jewellery making, prototyping, model making, marketing, and graphic design. They can create custom designs, complicated patterns, personalised objects, and artistic works, thereby encouraging creative expression and artistic development.
Costs: A POS card machine will be available at the Makerspace.
